Muskoxen are massive horned-mammals that live in the frozen tundra of nothern Alaska, the Canadian Arctic, and Greenland. These prehistoric creatures can live in such harsh conditions because of their thick hair and woolly undercoat. 

 

The name "musk ox" is said to have been derived from the musky odor that is produced my male muskox during the mating season.
