The city of Juarez is a terrifying and violent playground for rival drug cartels. One of the most prominent is the Juarez Cartel run by Vicente Carrillo Fuentes. Fuentes rules the Cartel with a bloody grip, responsible for mass murders and billions in drug trafficking. Eventually it’s a road checkpoint in Mexico that stops this drug lord in his tracks and lands him behind bars.

2001 Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman escapes a Mexican prison in a laundry van and this attracts some of Fuentes’ partners to switch over to the rival Sinaloa Cartel
September 2004 Tensions between the Sinaloa and Juarez Cartels climb and Fuentes’ brother Rodolfo is killed by assassins working for “El Chapo” (Sinaloa Cartel)
2008-2012 Sinaloa Cartel vs. Juarez Cartel rivalry results in 10,00 deaths
